5 days in Paris, 3 great addresses

Paris, city of lights and great cuisine. As the french saying goes oú il y'a du beurre, il y'a de l'amour (loose translation: the more butter in a dish the better it will turn out). In the land of butter and cream, bread and cheese, it may be challenging to not over indulge and continue to adhere to a balanced diet. To our pleasant surprise, there are a great number of options to eat well yet healthy, while in the french capital. Here are some our go-to spots:

Eat Gluten Free

Eating well is not limited to salads and juice blends; it's all about balance. This Italian inspired place is divided in two: one part is prepared food, and the other a small boutique for dry goods. As the name suggests, everything in this spot is gluten free, and as we discovered they also have an assortment of organic products. The menu is quite limited (pizza and pasta), but if you are in the Marais it is a fine option for food on the go. Grains are not the enemy if eaten in moderation. So go ahead and have a guilt-free bowl of penne or a slice of margherita.

Nearest metro: Saint Paul

Paradis Marguerite

This vegetarian restaurant opened only a few weeks ago, and it's already proven to be a great hit. Situated on the left bank, its terrace provides a stunning view on La Seine. The indoor seating is decorated in fresh tones of greens and oranges, making the place quite inviting. Though there is a vast assortiment of food and drink options available, the menu is not overbearing. We loved the Salade Fraicheur and the Réchauffe Coeur juice blend; they are not to be missed.

Nearest metro and RER: Saint Michel / Notre-Dame

Soya Cantine Bio

Last but not least, our favourite address. After almost an hour of indecisiveness on where to have lunch, we ultimately stumbled into SCB. Previously a workshop, it has been converted into a spacious urban eatery, with a modern design that blends well with its industrial roots. The Chefs have developed a creative fusion menu composed of Italian, North African and Asian inspired dishes. The Garam Massala, with its notes of ginger, coconut and citrus, is a must. They also offer catering, and the space is for hire for private events.

Nearest metro: Goncourt / Hôspital St Louis
